Not a receipt anymore!

Here is a card that I created using an item that would have certainly gone to the trash. The sales receipt is from a wholesale distributor of butter, cheese and Kraft products out of Rochester, Michigan. The gal that gave these to me thought they were from the late 1960's. They were carbon copies because the back is black. You can see just how brittle they are from the upper right corner. See how it just chipped off.

I ran a piece of SU Pretty in Pink paper through my cuttlebug (just love that thing) using the Textile Lace embossing folder. Gave a light rub over the embossing using Ranger Distress Ink to give it a vintage feeling and bring out the detail. Next I stamped the design on the receipt using SU Chocolate Chip craft ink with a stamp from the set "From the Garden" by Fancy Pants Designs. The greeting is Hero Arts stamped on a pink scallop layered on top of a chocolate chip scallop using my Nestabilites from Spellbinders (another must have). I added pink and chocolate satin ribbon as my embellishment.

So there you have it, another trash to treasure. Remember you don't have to use just plain cardstock or printed paper to stamp on. Even though there are lines and words on the receipt, the stamped image still stands out. Go for the one large stamp because I think several small ones would have been too busy. If anyone has any information about this distributing company I would love to learn the history behind the receipt.

~Kim
