Giving Back

This card was created for a contest over at Jen del Muro's blog. She had a blot tart give away for international students at Dallas Baptist University. The cards were to be sent so these students could send them to loved ones back home. The prize for this contest is sensational but just knowing you're giving back is a prize of it's own.

I tried to keep it generic so it could be used for several different occasions. It seems like I have been using a chocolate color scheme quite a bit lately. I guess when I try to stay away from eating it, my craving comes out in a different medium.

I created this using SU brocade blue and chocolate chip. It looks darker in the picture that it really is. The printed paper is from The Paper Studio. The sentiment is a Hero Arts and the butterfly is one of Martha Stewart punches. I used my paisley cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and swiss dot on the chocolate Labels One nestabillities from Spellbinders.

It's hard to believe it is already February and with this being a short month it will be March before we know it. I hope everyone is enjoying the coziness of their homes this winter. I know I am. I have not been out of the house since Wednesday and loving every minute of it ( although most of it was down with the bug). Everyone seems to be feeling the chill this winter- makes you wonder just what is happening to our changing environment. My daughter and son-n-law are in Raleigh, North Carolina and they got 4 inches of snow last week. Both of them being raised in Michigan had quite a good laugh at seeing the city shut down with such a small amount of snow. Becky actually spent part of her childhood in the Upper Peninsula where it snows just about 4 inches every day from December to March. They are up at over 200 inches already up there. Now that is survival.

Stay warm, Stay cozy and enjoy!

~Kim
